The Imaging Supplies Coalition will be hosting its 2008 Conference on Counterfeiting in the Imaging Supplies Industry on August 17 - 19, 2008. The Conference will be conducted at the Planet Hollywood Resort in Las Vegas. The theme of the conference is Combating Counterfeiting on a Global Scale. The conference will be attended by 70 to 80 professionals involved in brand protection and anti counterfeiting activities. The conference is international in scope with attendees from Europe, Asia, the US, Canada and Latin America.

Toshiba Launches New Office Supply Telemarketing Fraud Protection ProgramAug 21st, 07
IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--In a significant legal victory protecting the business interests of authorized Toshiba dealers and their customers against misrepresentations and fraudulent business practices, Toshiba America Business Solutions Inc. (TABS) today announced that the United States District Court ordered a permanent injunction against IDC SERVCO, Mytel International Inc., and parent company, G.M.N. Financial Services Inc., barring the group from misleading customers by representing the company as an authorized dealer of Toshiba office product supplies. The permanent injunction further prohibits the companies from falsely designating any of their products as Toshiba's or infringing on any Toshiba-held copyright. This precedent is the first legal success in TABS' aggressive initiative to protect the Toshiba brand, Toshiba dealers and their end customers from office supply telemarketing scams. Read More >

On June 15, 2007, ISC President, Allen Westerfield, presented a paper to the Asian Imaging Forum at the Suntec Convention Center in Singapore. The Asian Imaging Forum (AIF) was presented by RECHARGEasia Magazine in collaboration with the Diamond Research Corporation and Galliford Consulting and Marketing. The overriding goal of the forum was to provide a platform for toner and inkjet product suppliers and raw material providers. The Imaging Supplies Coalition for International Intellectual Property Protection (ISC) announced that it had elected a new Chairman of the Board and three new officers at their annual meeting held June 11, 2007. Tom Walter, Director - Aftermarket Sales, Marketing & Operations for Toshiba America Business Solutions Inc., was named Chairman of the Board. He succeeds Matthew Hahn, Director of Marketing – Supplies/Accessories, Brother International Corp. On May 4, 2007, ISC President, Allen Westerfield participated in a Panel Discussion at the International Imaging Technology Council Annual Conference. The I-ITC Conference is intended to provide a platform for toner and ink product manufacturers and raw materials suppliers to the imaging supplies remanufacturing industry. The panel discussed the growing threat of counterfeit products originating in China and called particular attention the use of newly manufactured “clone” cartridges” being offered as remanufacture cartridges or empty OEM cartridges.. It is with great pleasure that the Imaging Supplies Coalition announces the appointment of Mr. Allen D. Westerfield as its new president. The appointment is effective immediately. Mr. Westerfield replaces the late Mr. William R. Duffy in this position.
